Ford has recently released the C-Max Energi; a car they have built to compete with the Toyota Prius.
Ford claims that this plug-in vehicle will run up to 20 miles on electric charge and up to 550 miles on gasoline. The C-Max is in a more eco-friendly collection by Ford along with the Focus Electric, Fusion Energi and Fusion Hybrid.

This car has 188 horsepower, and a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine. The car is built with a lithium-ion battery, rather than the nickel-metal used in the first hybrids. Ford claims that this will reduce the time it takes to charge the battery.
Although this does not solve the problem of high gas prices, it will help if you don’t have to visit the pumps as often.
